Sprint, Apple Working on iPhone (iphone 4 Vodaphone) 4S Data Speed Issues, Email Says - PC Magazine

Sprint reported jot down activations the day it proposed offered the iPhone (iphone 4 Vodaphone) 4 as good as 4S, though has which liquid of data-hungry smartphones hosed the carrier’s network?

According to TheNextWeb, an inner email sent to Sprint member says which Apple as good as Sprint have been operative on a repair for a “confirmed inhabitant issue” per delayed interpretation speeds, though one some-more sum were not divulged.

Apple iPhone (iphone 4 Vodaphone) 4S users have taken to the Sprint forums to protest about network speeds which have been “too delayed to be useful.” Those who have contacted Sprint’s patron await were told which it was a “known issue” as good as which a repair was on the way.

One user, jd_pruitt, used the SpeedTest.net app to magnitude speeds nearby the Denver, Colo. area, as good as available download speeds of 0.03Mbps as good as upload speeds of 0.06Mbps. Another user, some1nOC, had identical formula in Orange County, though has “seen a large burst in the download speeds” over a three-day period. Download speeds on Oct 16, for example, were during 0.09Mbps though jumped to 1.35Mbps by Oct 19.

For comparison, you used the same app to exam my AT&T iPhone (iphone 4 Vodaphone) 4 in New York City, as good as got download speeds of 3.44Mbps as good as upload speeds of 0.26Mbps.

“When listening to Pandora the tide would stop for a couple of mins as good as begin again,” jd_pruitt wrote. “Browsing is noticeably slower from my former conduit AT&T. Translation: Yeah, it’s flattering lame.”

In a statement, Sprint pronounced iPhone (iphone 4 Vodaphone) opening on the network is “consistent with the expectations.” The conduit pronounced it conducted benchmarking tests which compared the iPhone (iphone 4 Vodaphone) to those from alternative carriers as good as found “little to no opening difference.”

“We have been saying a really low lapse rate for this device though you have been examination the reports of speed issues really closely,” Sprint continued. “We do see opportunities to optimize performance, privately in tall network genius areas. We see this as standard optimization work as good as do not have any specific area of concern. Sprint is committed to on condition which the most appropriate probable knowledge for the customers. We have been listening to the business as good as operative closely with the partners during Apple to safeguard optimal opening of iPhone (iphone 4 Vodaphone) inclination on the network.”

In reviewing the Sprint chronicle of the iPhone (iphone 4 Vodaphone) 4S on launch day, PCMag mobile researcher Sascha Segan found which “all of my Sprint phones were crawling along during a pitiable 300-500kbps, with a little interpretation sessions receiving multiform seconds to connect.” Once connected, they remained which way, though “it was similar to you was watchful in line to get on the Internet,” Segan reported.

Last week, Sprint pronounced it was “looking in to a tiny series of reports of delayed interpretation speeds.” But as PCMag’s Segan forked out, “we do not know how most of the people angry about iPhone (iphone 4 Vodaphone) speeds on Sprint have been experiencing Sprint’s 3G network for the initial time. As you showed in the 21-city Fastest Mobile Networks feature, Sprint has the slowest of the vital 3G networks, with normal inhabitant download speeds hovering around 480kbps compared to Verizon’s 700kbps as good as AT&T’s 2.4Mbps.”

Prior to the iPhone (iphone 4 Vodaphone) 4S launch, meanwhile, Sprint Nextel CFO Joe Euteneuer told attendees during a promissory note discussion which the conduit was scheming the network for the liquid of use should it get the iPhone (iphone 4 Vodaphone). “We’re starting to stay forward of it,” he pronounced of the demand.
